Using Quality Standards for Efficiency

With more attention being paid to the effectiveness of the production process for many different goods and services, organizations around the world are looking to implement quality standards that will not only raise their output, but also the integrity of the final product. This philosophy is used by many companies and started to receive praise when Motorola began implementing their quality standards in 1986. With a quality standards program called Six Sigma, Motorola was able to minimize the individual variation between the goods that the company manufactured. A group that practices total quality management examine all of the steps needing to provide a service or produce an item. By looking at every aspect of the production process, a quality control expert can find ways to streamline the process and heighten the efficiency for the greater good of the company.
